Maternal Fetal Medicine

David Neal Jackson, MD, is the Intermountain Healthcare of Nevada Endowed Chair in Gynecologic Surgery and Obstetrics at the Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine at UNLV. Dr. Jackson is board-certified in obstetrics and gynecology and maternal-fetal medicine.

He attended the University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine, where he graduated in 1983. After completing his residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center in Phoenix, Arizona, he completed a fellowship in maternal-fetal medicine at the University of California at Irvine and Memorial Medical Center in Long Beach, California.

Dr. Jackson is a professor of obstetrics and gynecology at the Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine at UNLV and an adjunct clinical professor at the University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine. His teaching accomplishments include multiple Clinical Instructor of the Year, American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) Mentor Awards, and American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (CREOG) National Faculty Awards. He also won the Hohler Award for 3D Ultrasound Research in Edinburgh, Scotland.

Dr. Jackson is committed to serving Nevada’s diverse and multicultural population. He has a heart for underserved populations, including rural populations and indigent care. He was honored to serve the Crow and Northern Cheyenne populations in Montana.

A recognized leader in three-dimensional fetal imaging, fetal neurosonography, and palliative care for lethal fetal syndromes, Dr. Jackson has artificial intelligence (AI) in healthcare certifications and will apply these new technologies to research interests in disability prevention and health enhancement for children with congenital syndromes.

Dr. Jackson is also a member of several professional organizations, such as the American Medical Association, the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (chairman of the Nevada Section), the Society of Maternal-Fetal Medicine, the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine, the International Society of Ultrasound in Obstetrics, the Association of Professors of Gynecology and Obstetrics, the Nevada Maternal Mortality Review Committee and the Fetal Infant Mortality Review Committee of Washoe County.
